Welcome to the second edition of AndroidPure’s Weekly Roundup of Android Apps and Games.

Google Camera

As you may have noticed last week, we not only cover new releases here, but also mention some noteworthy updates as well.

Now let’s take a look at this week’s list,

Apps:

Google Camera:

A fantastic Camera app from Google, it comes with support for PhotoSphere, Lens Blur, Panorama. You can blur the background or the foreground of the photo with Lens Blur, thus highlighting the object in focus.

If you have a devic with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, give the camera app a whirl.

Note: The Photo Sphere and the Panorama features may not be available on some devices.

Xperia Keyboard:

Following the footsteps of other OEMs, Sony have put up one of their key apps on to the Play Store. The SonyXperia Keyboard. This allows them to update it and also receive user feedback from Google Play. Good job Sony!
The bad news is, the app is only compatible with Sony devices that are running Android KitKat.

Games:

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition:

The classic RPG has finally arrived for Android devices. It is a bit pricey, but fans will love it. The game comes with two expansions with a further 3 available via In-App Purchases. Read our coverage about it here.

Smash Bandits Racing:

The game is a sequel to Smash Cops, but now you get to play as the speeding outlaws. It is a classic chase with a Chopper hovering above.  Smash various objects to boost your TV Ratings to earn more cash and upgrade your ride. The controls are a bit clunky, but the graphics are amazing.

Polymer:

A Noodlecake game, should I say more. Probably yes. This puzzle game was developed by Whitaker Trebella, the man behind the music of Super Stickman Golf and the developer of the rage inducing game, Pivvot. You have to match various shapes to create a polymer, and then destroy them.

Contra:Evolution

The game which was released last year with a $0.99 price tag has now gone freeware, err…free to play. Read about it here. I think everyone needs to try it, though you might uninstall it later.

A classic case of ruining a classic game with IAPs.
