Galaxy S26 FE Launches in India at Rs 79,999, With No 128GB Option

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S26 FE in India at Rs 79,999, and it comes in only one configuration: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. That replaces a leaked price sheet androidpure covered last week, which also listed a cheaper 8GB/128GB option that never made it to market.

The phone goes on sale in India from September 18, across Samsung.com, major online retailers, and offline stores. It’s the first device in the Galaxy S26 family to ship with One UI 9 out of the box. It runs on an Exynos 2500 chipset, a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and a triple rear camera system built around a 50MP main sensor.

Galaxy S26 FE India Price and Availability

Samsung’s India listing carries just one variant.

  • Galaxy S26 FE (8GB/256GB): Rs 79,999, in Pistachio, Blueberry, and Graphite colorways

Buyers who wanted the cheaper 8GB/128GB tier that surfaced in androidpure’s earlier report on the leaked pricing are out of luck for now. Samsung’s release lists a single memory and storage option, and whether a lower-priced variant arrives later hasn’t been said.

Samsung is running three separate launch offers, and it says buyers can pick only one:

  • Exchange: up to Rs 8,000 as an upgrade bonus when trading in an old device
  • EMI: up to 30 months of no-cost EMI through select NBFC partners, plus an extra Rs 3,000 upgrade bonus
  • Bank offer: Rs 7,000 instant cashback on major bank cards, or a 12-month no-cost bank EMI (extended to 18 months for purchases through Samsung’s own eStore)

Samsung’s own release is direct about the terms: “these offers are mutually exclusive, and customers can select only one option.” The cashback and EMI tracks look attractive side by side. They can’t be combined.

Specifications

The Galaxy S26 FE’s headline upgrade is the camera-and-AI pairing Samsung is pushing across the S26 lineup. It runs on a mid-tier Exynos chip rather than the flagship’s processor.

  • Display: 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,900 nits peak brightness
  • Processor: Exynos 2500 (3nm)
  • RAM/Storage: 8GB/256GB only
  • Rear cameras: 50MP wide (OIS), 12MP ultra-wide, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom (OIS)
  • Front camera: 12MP
  • Battery: 4,900mAh, 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging
  • Build: IP68 water and dust resistance, 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm, 193g
  • Software: Android 17 with One UI 9

Samsung’s camera pitch leans on software rather than new hardware. My FanCam, which tracks and re-centers a chosen subject during video, arrives on the FE series for the first time. It’s joined by Super Steady with Horizontal Lock and Gemini Omni, which can auto-edit clips from the Gallery app. The phone also includes a six-month Google AI Pro trial with 5TB of cloud storage for eligible users.

How Long Will Samsung Support It

Samsung promises up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, counted from the phone’s global launch date. Both qualifiers matter. “Up to” is a ceiling, not a guarantee. And the clock started at global launch last month, not at India’s September 18 on-sale date. Anyone picking this up on day one in India is already a few weeks into that seven-year window before opening the box.

What’s New in Galaxy AI on the FE

Running One UI 9, the S26 FE gets the same context-aware Galaxy AI stack Samsung has rolled out across the S26 series. An updated Now Brief adds customizable cards. Now Nudge brings suggestions inside supported apps, and Circle to Search can now identify multiple items in one go. None of it is exclusive to the FE — it’s the flagship’s One UI 9 experience extended to Samsung’s mid-tier lineup.
