Pixel Watch 5 Leak: Both Sizes Shown, Design Barely Changes

Rumor: Fresh Pixel Watch 5 renders have leaked showing both case sizes side by side, and the headline finding is how little is changing — leaker Evan Blass posted images on 30 July that put the 41mm and 45mm models next to each other with what appears to be an unchanged case, crown, band mechanism and charging setup. Google confirms the watch at its 12 August event, so this is unofficial until then.

What the Pixel Watch 5 leak shows

The gallery, shared by Blass on X, covers the watch from multiple angles including the rear dome. Across both reports covering it, the takeaways are consistent:

  • Two sizes, as before — 41mm and 45mm cases.
  • Charging — the same contact-pin side charging arrangement introduced on the Pixel Watch 4. If you were hoping the Qi wireless puck would return, these images give no reason to.
  • Case and controls — domed cover glass, bezel, rotating crown, button placement and the band attachment all appear carried over, along with the sensor layout on the underside.
  • Colors — Dark Anthracite, Pyrite and Silver on both sizes, with a Gold option shown only on the 41mm, per Android Authority’s read of the renders.
  • Software hint — the default watch face in the renders is analog, with a Gemini icon sitting in a complication slot, which lines up with Google pushing Gemini onto Wear OS.

Why an unchanged design is the story

The Pixel Watch 4 was the redesign year — a new domed display, a reworked case, and the switch to the side-mounted contact-pin charger. If these renders are accurate, the Pixel Watch 5 would be the first generation to carry its predecessor’s case over wholesale rather than reshape it. That is not automatically bad news: freezing a design means accessory makers and band buyers stop starting over every year, and existing bands should carry across.

The flip side is what it means for buyers weighing a Pixel Watch 4 against the new one. If the shell, sizes and charging are identical, the entire upgrade case rests on internals and software Google has not detailed — and the renders tell us nothing about the chip, battery, sensors or price. Anyone about to buy should wait the twelve days rather than assume the newer number is worth a premium, and anyone holding a Pixel Watch 4 should read the 12 August spec sheet carefully before trading up.

What is still unknown

Renders do not carry specifications. Nothing here confirms battery capacity, processor, health sensors, satellite messaging support, launch pricing or which markets get which sizes and colors first. Blass has a strong track record with marketing material of exactly this type, but none of it is confirmed until Google says it on stage on 12 August, alongside the Pixel 11 series.
