Galaxy Z Fold8 US Carrier Deals: Free on T-Mobile and AT&T With Trade-In

US shoppers looking at Samsung’s new foldables have a clearer math problem than the unlocked sticker price: T-Mobile and AT&T are both advertising the Galaxy Z Fold8 for free (with trade-in and a qualifying plan), while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra drops to about $200 under the same kind of promos. Pre-orders are open now; phones ship August 7, 2026.

Unlocked US pricing still sits high — the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at $2,099.99, the new wide Fold8 at $1,899.99, and the Flip8 at $1,199.99 — so the carrier bill-credit packages are the real consumer story for most buyers this week.

T-Mobile: Fold8 on Us, Ultra for $200

T-Mobile’s official July 22 newsroom post is the cleanest primary source. Headline offers (via 24 monthly bill credits, tax on the pre-credit price still due at sale):

  • Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra: $1,900 off with an eligible trade-in on Experience Beyond or Go5G Next — that’s a Fold8 “on Us,” or an Ultra for about $200
  • Galaxy Z Flip8: $1,100 off when adding a new line or trading in on Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus, or Go5G Next — about $100 left on the Flip8
  • Business: up to $1,300 off any Z8 model when switching to T-Mobile for Business with a trade-in on SuperMobile, or up to $900 off without a trade-in when adding a business line
  • Watches: Galaxy Watch9 40mm “on Us,” or Watch Ultra2 for $270 — $430 off on Watch Plan Plus

Full retail prices T-Mobile lists for finance: Fold8 Ultra $2,099.99, Fold8 $1,899.99, Flip8 $1,199.99, Watch Ultra2 $699.99, Watch9 $429.99 (40mm). Credits end if you cancel the account early or pay the device off early in ways that break the promo rules — read the fine print before you commit.

AT&T: free Fold8 with trade-in

AT&T is matching the headline free-Fold8 pitch with an eligible trade-in, and offering up to $1,900 off the Fold8 Ultra (again leaving roughly $200). The Flip8 discount is a bit thinner than T-Mobile’s — up to $1,000 off with trade-in, per AT&T’s Galaxy Z8 story. New customers can also get up to $800 per line in phone-balance payoff when switching (up to 10 lines). AT&T is bundling soft offers on a Watch9 or Galaxy Tab A11+ for about $2/month each under qualifying conditions.

Verizon: smaller credits, Simplicity-focused

Verizon’s July 22 preorder post is more modest on pure phone discounts and heavier on plan structure:

  • Simplicity Plan + new line: $460 promotional credit over 48 months on the Fold8 ($1,899.99 finance price), or $420 over 48 months on the Ultra ($2,099.99)
  • Upgrade path: up to $1,100 off Fold8 or Fold8 Ultra over 36 months on Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate with a qualifying trade-in
  • Business: up to $900 off the Fold8 duo for new/existing business customers adding a line or upgrading with trade-in
  • BYOD watch deals: $430 promo credit over 36 months can put the Watch9 40mm effectively on us, with a matching $430 credit toward the Ultra2

Verizon does not appear to be pushing the Z Flip8 in its Z Fold8 preorder package the way T-Mobile and AT&T are. Fold8 buyers on Simplicity or myPlan can also claim six months of the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ (with ads) perk.

What the “free” Fold8 actually costs

None of these are unlocked $0 walk-out deals. The recurring catches are the same across carriers:

  • Trade-in quality gates the big credits — a recent Galaxy flagship can hit the max; a cracked midranger often will not
  • Premium plan tiers (Experience Beyond / Go5G Next, Unlimited Plus/Ultimate, etc.) are required for the deepest discounts
  • Bill credits are stretched over 24–48 months; leave early and remaining credits usually stop while the device balance can come due
  • Tax is usually charged on the pre-credit retail price at sale

If you already own a high-value Galaxy phone, the T-Mobile/AT&T free-Fold8 path is the strongest paper offer of the three. If you want to keep plan costs lower and can live with a smaller monthly credit, Verizon’s Simplicity framing is the alternative — just don’t expect the same “on us” headline.

Retail availability is August 7. For unlocked pricing, India pricing, and the full Unpacked lineup, start with androidpure’s Fold8 Ultra launch coverage.
