Realme 8i 5G launch date

The Realme 8i and Realme 8s 5G India launch has been set for September 9th. The handsets will be unveiled via a live stream event, at 12:30 PM on the next Tuesday. Here’s what we know about the upcoming mid-range phones in the Realme 8 series.

Realme 8i

The Realme 8i is the first phone in India, that will have a MediaTek Helio G96 processor. The chipset is clocked to run up to 2.05GHz. The 4G enabled phone has an ARM-Mali G57 GPU to handle the graphics.

A chart on the brand’s page says that the GPU on the 8i is 91% more power efficient compared to the Realme 7i, which had an Adreno 610. The 8i is also 51% better in terms of CPU power efficiency, compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor on the 7i. The Realme 8i is said to have scored 350,391 points on AnTuTu Benchmark.

According to a teaser image posted on the site, the device has a hole-punch camera in the top left corner of the screen, and is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the right side of the frame.

The Realme 8s 5G is set to become the World’s first phone with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor. The 6nm process chipset is clocked at 2.4GHz, and that’s a 20% higher clock speed compared to the 2.0GHz Dimensity 720 SoC. The Dimensity 810 chipset is said to offer 16% better performance compared to the 720. The new processor reportedly scored over 390,000 points on AnTuTu Benchmark.
