Many OEMs have turned their focus to the main camera on phones. The recent OnePlus-Hasselblad partnership is just one example of how smartphone optics are the next big leap in technology.

Samsung Galaxy S22 renders leaked

Xiaomi’s recent Mi 11 Ultra boasts the world’s biggest camera sensor, but Samsung could take the crown away when its next flagship series is announced.

Unofficial Samsung Galaxy S22 renders leaked by LetsGoDigital and TechnizoConcept reveal the design of the device. It appears that Samsung is partnering with Japanese brand Olympus for the cameras on the next-gen phones.

As a matter of fact, we could see the first Olympus camera on a Samsung phone, when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is announced later this year, around July or August. Now, back to the Samsung Galaxy S22 renders, the camera on the back is literally massive. The branding below the gigantic lens reads 200MP Olympus Camera.

There are some additional sensors in the camera bump, one of which seems to have a square sensor though it is encircled by a ring cutout. The other ring houses an LED Flash, and possible a ToF lens and a Laser Flash module.

The device has antenna lines on the side, which means the frame is metallic. The camera bump curves from the right edge of the frame and goes to the back panel. Speaking of curves, the phone seen in the pictures has a flat-screen, which suggests this could be the Galaxy S22 or the S22 Pro. The handset has a USB Type-C port on the bottom along with a speaker-grille. The top of the phone is home to the SIM card tray, and some microphone holes. As expected, the phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

We can also see the S-Pen accessory in the leaked Samsung Galaxy S22 renders, in case you missed it, Samsung has discontinued the Note series, and instead made the stylus compatible with its Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galazy Z Fold2 devices.
