Razer Phone 2 benchmark surfaces on Geekbench and AnTuTu

A Razer Phone 2 benchmark has appeared on Geekbench, ahead of the device’s official launch. And it appears that the next gen gaming phone packed a decent punch.

Razer Phone 2 benchmark Geekbench

The device scored a single core score of 2026 points. Is that good? No, unfortunately it is pretty low, compared to the OnePlus 6 which has a score of 2418 points.

The multi-core score of the Razer Phone 2 benchmark was better, with 8234 points. But it was still slower than the OnePlus 6 which outscored by over 600 points, with a score of 8898.

We just picked the OnePlus 6 randomly for the comparison, because we expect the Razer Phone 2 to have a similar processor. The Razer Phone 2 benchmark mentions that the phone has an octa-core Qualcomm processor, most likely the Snapdragon 845, and the clock speed of both devices is 1.77GHz.

The Razer Phone 2 has 8GB of RAM, and will probably be called Cheryl2. The original Razer Phone was called Project Cheryl, so we aren’t surprised about the new moniker. the only other thing we can tell from the Razer Phone 2 benchmark, is that the device runs on Android Oreo 8.1.

Another Razer Phone 2 benchmark on AnTuTu confirms this theory. The device will have an Adreno 630 GPU, and 8GB of RAM. The phone has 512GB of storage, which should be plenty for gamers. The display on the device has a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is a regular QHD resolution. That means the phone won’t have an 18:9 aspect ratio, which in turn implies the device could have bezels and a lower screen to body ratio than modern devices. We think this is very likely, if Razer includes dual front facing speakers.

We do expect the next Razer phone to have more bells and whistles like audio enhancements, better cameras, and possibly dedicated gaming keys, and a proper cooling system.

Rumour has it that the Razer Phone 2 could be launched in December 2018, so we can expect more leaks before the official announcement.
