Rumor mills are churning out new leaks / rumors about Xiaomi Mi 6 with each day passing. Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to be launched officially in April – May 2017, though at the moment there is no official confirmation for the same. Alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 with model No. MCE16 is already listed on Chinese 3C certification suggesting an imminent official launch. We have already seen an alleged retail box of Mi 6 indicating a display size of 5.15 inch along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor powering the device backed by battery of 3200 mAh capacity. It also indicates a 12 MP main rear camera and a 4 MP front shooter.

Today, a new rumor surfaced on the web which reveals important information about two features of upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6, in the form of images of third-party case for the device. As per this rumor, Xiaomi Mi 6 will be “waterproof” just as many other flagship devices from other brands such as Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and Apple iPhone 7. We still do not have any details about the Waterproofing capabilities of Mi 6.

The rumor also indicates that Xiaomi Mi 6 will drop the 3.5 mm audio jack and will use the USB C type port instead in place of that. Many brands have already dropped the conventional 3.5 mm audio jack from their smartphones including LeEco, Apple etc, though Samsung has chosen to keep the 3.5 mm audio jack in their latest flagship device i.e. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The images above doesn’t show any audio jack, but only a USB type C port. The dual camera setup is clearly visible at the top left corner of back panel, which matches with the camera setup of earlier leaked images / renders of Mi 6.

As with any other rumor, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
