A report has emerged which claims that the Moto G’s successor, the Moto G2 or the Moto G+1, will be launched on September 10th.

Moto G2

The news comes via GSMArena, who were informed of this by a retailer, which got the information from a Motorola employee.

The new rumor comes just a week after the device’s specifications were spotted at benchmarking site, GFX Bench. It wasn’t the first to report the specs though, a Spanish blog had leaked the information about the phone, in July.

The G2 will sport a 5″ Display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and will run Android 4.4.4 out of the box. The device will have similar internals as the Moto G, with a Snapdragon 400 processor , an Adreno 305 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a 2 Megapixel front camera. The only other upgrade is an  8 Megapixel Camera on the rear.

Here are the rumored Technical Specifications of the Moto G2:

Display1280 x 720 pixels (320 DPI)
ProcessorQuad Core ARM V7 VFPv4 NEON. (Could be the Snapdragon 400)
GPUAdreno 305
Camera8 Megapixels rear camera
SIMDual SIM

The price of the phone has been quoted as €250, which translates to about $335 or Rs. 20,000. The current Moto G sells for $180 or Rs. 10,000, after the recent price drop. Considering this, the G2’s price is quite hefty, with no information on whether it will support 4G LTE or have a micro SD card slot.
