Avoidance games or reflex testing, twitch games are an odd genre that induce rage amongst gamers, and yet still entertain.
The latest to join the avoidance bandwagon is, Wave Wave, published by Noodlecake Games and made by Indie Developer, Thomas Janson .
The game is not yet available at the Play Store, but we tested it on our Moto G. The game is addictive as Super Hexagon was, perhaps a bit more in an insanely fun way.
Wave Wave has three game modes: Random Rotation Repeater, Galaxy, and Scripted Levels. The first 2 are endless modes. RRR will have you avoiding Triangular obstacles, in a bid to survive for as long as possible, and instant death. Galaxy will have more obstacles, but will also have a health bar, which reduces when you hit an obstacle.
Tap and hold on the left or right side of your screen, to make the wave move in the respective direction. Tapping the screen quickly in succession enables Wave mode, where you move insanely fast.
You can change the controls from the settings menu, which includes an option for Left Handed gamers.
Try as hard as I might, I couldn’t last for more than 7 seconds. Maybe you could do better.
You can also play multiplayer on the same device, in the split-screen multiplayer mode. There are 8 fast paced soundtracks which complement the gameplay.
Here is the Play Store listing where Wave Wave will be available later tonight, for a launch price of $1.99, and considering that there are no ads or IAPS, this is a perfectly reasonable price.
