The Aces of the Luftwaffe have landed on Android devices

I said I would be updating my previous post about the game, but I couldn’t do that when I saw the game’s features and the price.

Aces of the Luftwaffe Google Play

This is a free game I simply had to come and write about.

While I assumed that we would be flying the Allied Planes to attack the Axis, it appears that the opposite just happened, in the game.
We have to destroy the Axis planes which are invading Britain.

A list of the game’s features:

Fight thousands of enemy air planes
Choose and upgrade your plane and pilot
Beat super tough bosses
Fly bombastic missions
Enjoy mighty power-ups

So you can upgrade your plane AND your Pilot? Well, that’s cool.

Here is a short review of the game:

The game allows you to choose between Right/Left handed controls, Relative/direct control and even choose performance over graphics, for lower end devices possibly.

I am surprised that the game has been released for free and no paid version is available. This obviously meant IAPs, and yes the game does have IAPs for Medals, it also removes ads from the game. And you can use the Medals to unlock different campaigns such as The Panzer Menace, Dawn of the Dragon. There appears to be a slot which says more coming soon.

For starters, you can only play the Battle of Britain and choose the Freshman campaign.

The gameplay is simple you touch and drag anywhere on the screen to mve your plane, it automatically shoots. So it’s pretty much of a standard bullet-hell shooter. The music is good, and keeps you entertained while you blast the enemy planes.

Aces of the Luftwaffe Android Lone Plane

You control one plane and as you destroy enemy planes you get Medals and powerups, crates etc. I was able to get the Wingman power, i.e two support planes.

And also various upgrades for the gun, such as the machine gun. At a point I also heard the pilot say (yes there is a bit of voice-acting when you get powerups and other stuff ).

I experimented with the first mission and was able to lose one of the Wingmen and regain it as I played. Towards the end of the 1st mission, there was a bigger plane trying to shoot me down but it sped away.

There is a superpower which recharges as you play. Tapping on the Superpower icon on the bottom left triggers a bunch of alllied planes to attack the enemy planes and fly away. Might come in handy for boss battles.

You can use the medals to upgrade Plane’s Speed, the SuperPower and Bullet speed.

The medals can also be used to unlock various campaigns.I earned 57 medals on the 1st mission. Not bad, eh?

Oh and there are a bunch of achievements for you to try and accomplish. Overall this is an excellent game and I recommend it if you love aerial shooters.

Here is the official game play trailer:

You can download  Aces of the Luftwaffe, for free from Google Play. Use the widget below

Note: The IAPs are optional as you can earn enough medals through gameplay. Though the only way to remove the ads is via IAP.
