The claims website for Apple’s $250 million Siri AI settlement went live on September 21, and eligible iPhone owners in the US can now file for a payout of up to $95 per device. The case centers on Siri features Apple advertised years before they actually shipped.
What the Siri AI Settlement Covers
Apple previewed a more personalized Siri at WWDC in June 2024, promising the assistant would understand a user’s on-screen activity, personal context across apps, and deeper per-app controls. The company ran ads for these features, including a TV commercial with actor Bella Ramsey. In March 2025, Apple delayed the launch, and a class action followed, alleging the marketing amounted to false advertising.
Apple did not admit wrongdoing.

An Apple spokesperson gave that explanation to CBS News. It frames the settlement as a way to avoid a trial, not as an admission that the ads were misleading.
The more capable, personalized Siri finally arrived at WWDC 2026 and is available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models running iOS 27, which started rolling out last week. Apple still labels it a beta feature.
Who Qualifies, and How Much You Get
To file a claim, you need to reside in the US and have bought one of these iPhone models there, for personal use rather than resale, between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025:
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are not on the list. Apple is expected to pay around $25 per eligible device. That figure could rise as high as $95 depending on how many people actually file valid claims.
Claims can be filed at smartphoneaisettlement.com between September 21 and December 21. Apple is expected to email eligible customers a claim ID and PIN over the coming days, but you can also file without one, using either your iPhone’s serial number or your Apple Account email and phone number.
What to Do Next
Don’t expect a check right away. A final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so payouts likely won’t begin until sometime after that. If you bought a qualifying iPhone in the US during that window, filing a claim before December 21 costs nothing. It’s a rare case where an overreaching ad campaign comes with an actual, if modest, refund attached.
