Samsung Galaxy A50s, A30s, A20s to launch on September 11 in India

Samsung has begun teasing the launch of a new Galaxy A series in India. There will be not one but 3 new phones, the Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A20s.

The company had announced two of the phones last month, so here’s a recap of the devices’ hardware.

Samsung Galaxy A50s

The Galaxy A50s is equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-U water-drop notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9610 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM.

The device has 64GB/128GB Storage and supports up to 512GB of expandable memory via a microSD card slot. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery which supports 15W fast charging over a USB Type-Connector. The Galaxy A50s does have a headphone jack.

The optics department of the Samsung Galaxy A50s comprises triple cameras with a 48MP primary sensor that has an f/2.0 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The device supports 4x Digital Zoom, UHD 4K video recording @30fps, and slo-mo video capture @240fps. The selfie lens on the phone is a 32MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports Dual Nano SIM cards, Dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, FM Radio among other features.

Samsung Galaxy A30s

The Samsung Galaxy A30s is nearly identical to the A50s in terms of dimensions, design and most specs. But the A30s has a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-V water-drop notch. It does retain the in-display fingerprint scanner.

The phone is powered by an Exynos 7904 octa-core processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB Storage and a microSD card slot. The other major differences are the cameras, with the selfie lens being a 16MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture .

The Galaxy A30s triple cameras consist of a 25MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

  • Storage: 32GB/64GB/128GB Storage + up to 512GB via microSD card
  • Main Cameras: 25MP, f/1.7 aperture + 5MP depth sensor, f/2.2 aperture + 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash
  • Selfie Camera: 16MP, f/2.0 aperture
  • Battery: 4000mAh, USB Type-C, 15W fast charging
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor
  • Connectivity: Dual Nano SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4/5GHz, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack
  • Dimension:158.5 x 74.5 x 7.7mm
  • Weight: 166g

The phones will be available in 4 colours: Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Green and Prism Crush Violet. Not much is known about the Galaxy A20s at the moment, but rumours indicate that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor.

We will know for certain when the Samsung Galaxy A50s, A30s and A20s are launched on September 11th in India.
