OnePlus India GM: OnePlus 2 will get VoLTE support in Q4 2016

OnePlus 2 users in India have been hitting the company’s official forums, requesting for VoLTE support to be added to their beloved flagship phone, for a very long time. Ever since Reliance launched its Jio 4G LTE exclusive service, the number of requests for VoLTE support has increased by a substantial amount.

And the feedback, (read complaints), did not fall on deaf ears. OnePlus India General Manager Vikas Agarwal, officially announced today, that the OnePlus 2 will get VoLTE support in Q4 2016, via an OTA update.

This is sure to disappoint many users, considering that the Welcome Jio (Preview) offer only lasts until December 31st 2016, after which the service will become a premium one. There is no word on whether VoLTE support for the OnePlus One and the OnePlus X will ever be added.

Agarwal asked all (OPO, OP2, and OPX) users to use the Jio4GVoice app for 4G calls on Jio’s network. But this is something that users probably already know.
