Getting One UI 9 on your Galaxy phone doesn’t mean you get all of its new Galaxy AI tricks. SamMobile has compiled a full device-by-device breakdown of which phones support each of the four Galaxy AI features Samsung added in this update, and several recent, still-supported phones come up empty.
Samsung’s stable One UI 9 rollout began September 16 with the Galaxy S26 series and is expanding to more eligible devices through the rest of 2026. Four Galaxy AI additions are part of the update: My FanCam, which reframes a recorded video to keep a chosen person centered; Now Nudge, which surfaces contextual suggestions like adding a calendar event from a text message; custom Now Brief cards; and Call Brief, which shows relevant information on the call screen during a call.
Samsung’s own press release confirms these four features exist in One UI 9 but doesn’t publish a device compatibility list — SamMobile built its table from testing across the current Galaxy lineup, and it’s SamMobile’s compilation being referenced here, not an official Samsung chart.
Which Phones Get All Four Features
- Galaxy S26 series, S25 series, S24 series — My FanCam, Now Nudge, Custom Now Brief cards, Call Brief
- Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8 — all four features
- Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6 — all four features
- Galaxy Z TriFold, Z Fold Special Edition — all four features
Phones Missing Call Brief
- Galaxy S26 FE, S25 FE, S24 FE — get My FanCam, Now Nudge, and Custom Now Brief cards, but not Call Brief
Phones Left Out of All Four Features
This is the group worth a second look. The Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 are all still eligible for the One UI 9 update itself — they’re getting the new interface and general improvements — but none of the four new Galaxy AI features work on them at all, per SamMobile’s table.
- Galaxy S23 series — no My FanCam, Now Nudge, Custom Now Brief cards, or Call Brief
- Galaxy S23 FE — same, zero of the four features
- Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 — same, zero of the four features
That’s a meaningful gap for anyone who bought an S23 or a Fold 5/Flip 5 expecting Samsung’s flagship-tier AI treatment for the life of the phone. It’s not a shortened support window — these phones are still getting the update and its security patches on schedule — but it is Samsung drawing a hardware line under its headline AI features, likely tied to on-device processing requirements the S23-era chips can’t meet. If Galaxy AI access is a reason you’re holding onto one of these phones, know going in that you’ll be stuck on last-generation capability even after installing the newest software.
