Moto DROID Turbo 2 officially launched and here are its full tech specs

A few days ago, we reported that the images of the Moto DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 had been leaked.

And today, Motorola has officially launched the two phones in the U.S.

The DROID Turbo 2 flaunts a 5.4-inch AMOLED 1440p Quad HD Moto ShatterShield display, which the company says is made of five layers of materials, which absorb shock from impact and guarantees that it will not shatter. The pixel density of the screen is a whopping 540 ppi.

The phone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and is powered by a 2.0 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (MSM8994) with an Adreno 430 GPU, and 3GB of RAM (LPDDR4). The Turbo 2 comes in two storage variants: 32GB/64GB, and supports expandable microSD cards up to 2TB.

The phone features a 21 megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detect Auto-Focus (PDAF),  dual LED flash with CCT (Color Correlated Temperature), 1080p HD video (30fps), 4K video (30fps), Slow Motion video recording.

The selfie lens on the Turbo 2 is a 5 megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and a front facing flash.

The DROID Turbo 2 is backed by a 3760 mAh battery, with support for TurboPower fast charging and Qi wireless charging. The phone measures at 149.8 x 78 x 7.6 – 9.2 mm in dimensions, and weighs at 169g. The device has a water repellent nano-coating.

The Turbo 2 has a Nano-SIM card slot, and supports 4G LTE (Cat 4), CDMA, UMTS / HSPA+,GSM / EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC, A-GPS connectivity options. The phone has a plethora of sensors: Acceleromter, Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Hall Effect, Infrared, Magnetometer and Proximity.

The Turbo 2 comes in  4 colours: Black Soft Grip, White Soft Grip, Grey Ballistic Nylon and Black Pebbled Leather. It can be customized with a variety of Moto Maker options.

Pricing:

The Moto DRIOD Turbo 2 has been priced at $624 in the U.S.
