Can your Galaxy A56 or Galaxy A57 send files to an iPhone? After the stable One UI 9 update, it can. Quick Share on both phones now supports AirDrop, so you can share with iPhones, iPads and Macs. SamMobile and Dutch site Galaxyclub both found the option on their own phones.

The feature arrives with the stable One UI 9 update, which is still rolling out by region. If your phone hasn’t received One UI 9 yet, the option won’t be there.
Which Galaxy A phones support AirDrop sharing
- Working now: Galaxy A56 (SamMobile, Galaxyclub), Galaxy A57 (Galaxyclub)
- Not included, per Galaxyclub’s own units: Galaxy A36, Galaxy A37
- Unclear: Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54
Galaxyclub reports that the A36 and A37 did not get the feature with their One UI 9 updates. That’s based on its own phones, not a Samsung statement. Still, it means phones on the same software version don’t get the same sharing option.
The older models are less clear. Galaxyclub points to a Reddit thread suggesting the A55’s One UI 9 beta lacked the feature. Its own earlier tests also hinted the A54 may not be compatible. Neither has been confirmed.
How to turn on AirDrop sharing on the Galaxy A56 and A57
Samsung calls the feature Share with Apple devices. Galaxyclub found it already switched on by default after the update. It’s still worth checking each part.
- Open the Galaxy Store and update Quick Share and its related components.
- Go to Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share.
- Turn on Share with Apple devices.
- On the iPhone, iPad or Mac, set AirDrop visibility to Everyone.
- Set Quick Share on the Galaxy to share with everyone as well.
Galaxyclub notes that Wi-Fi may switch off briefly while the Galaxy searches for Apple devices.
A quick privacy tip: Everyone mode lets anyone nearby send you files. Switch AirDrop and Quick Share back to contacts-only once the transfer is done.
Samsung’s official list hasn’t caught up
As of October 21, Samsung’s Quick Share page still lists only the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. It says support is expected to expand to select flagship models, which doesn’t describe mid-range A phones. The page also requires Quick Share version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play Services 26.11.xx or later.
The feature first launched on the S26 series this year. Pixel owners have seen a similar spread, with Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 users reporting AirDrop sharing. Until Samsung updates its list, treat A56 and A57 support as working but unofficial.
