Honor Magic 2 with sliding display to officially launch on October 31

It’s finally official and now we have an official launch date of Huawei Honor Magic 2 which features a sliding display similar to upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 or Oppo Find X. Honor has released the launch teaser for Honor Magic 2 through it’s official Weibo account with a launch date of October 31 in China. The teaser shows the sliding mechanism with the rear portion slid up while the front display portion is slid down. Earlier rumours suggested a launch date of October 26.

Earlier (Sep 17, 2018)

After Oppo Find X with a sliding camera was officially launched, other brands too are coming with similar unconventional designs. Vivo Nex with a popup camera followed and the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is expected to offer a sliding design too. Continuing that trend, we have also seen the Honor magic 2 which was revealed by the company at FA Berlin event and is expected to feature a sliding camera mechanism.  Honor Magic 2 will also be the first device to be powered by the Huawei Kirin 980 processor, but the company is yet to announce the official launch date.

Now a new teaser has surfaced which indicate that Honor Magic 2 may officially launch at the end of next month i.e. on October 26, Friday. The launch teaser is not coming from an official source or handle of Honor, hence we are not sure if this is indeed the official launch date, though the teaser image looks credible enough. Have a look for yourself:

Not much is known about the hardware specifications of Honor Magic 2, though it is expected to feature a 6-Inch AMOLED display with 1440×2880 pixels resolution, and close to a whopping 100 % screen-to-body ratio. The teaser image also confirms the in-display fingerprint sensor embedded in the front display.

We already know that the phone features a sliding mechanism for the camera with probably a movable motor to slide and use the front camera. Other features include the 40W ‘Magic Charger’ with 15 layers of protection which probably can charge much faster than the existing fast chargers which come with maximum up to 20-24 watts capacity.

As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
