In September 2014, Gionee announced that it had beaten it’s own World record for the World’s slimmest phone with the ELIFE S5.1.
The previous record holder was the Gionee ELIFE S5.5, which was 5.5 mm in thickness.
The ELIFE S5.1 has a metallic frame and glass body and is just 5.1mm thick. The phone sports a 4.8″ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Octa Core processor, and 1GB of RAM. It has 16GB of non expandable storage.
The S5.1 packs an 8 Megapixel rear shooter and a 5 Megapixel front camera. The Elife S5.1 is a Single SIM device, and packs a 2050 mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 4.4 with Gionee’s Amigo 2.0 UI, out of the box and has various functions such as Wet Hands Mode, Fake Call, Flip Alarm. It also supports USB OTG (On The GO) and comes with DTS surround sound audio.
