Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ Leak in Renders: Dimensity 9500, Same Design, September Launch Expected

Samsung’s next flagship tablets have leaked in renders ahead of an expected September launch. The Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will both run MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset — a first for Samsung’s premium tablet line, which has historically used Qualcomm or Samsung’s own Exynos silicon — and ship with One UI 9 out of the box.

The renders, sourced from tipster SammyGuru, reveal only the front design — and the short answer is that not much has changed. Both tablets retain the same bezel thickness and overall face as the Tab S11 series. The Tab S12 Ultra still has its signature notch for the front camera, contradicting earlier rumors that Samsung would switch to a punch-hole cutout this generation.

Galaxy Tab S12 Specifications

Under the hood, the shift to Dimensity 9500 is the headline change. MediaTek’s latest flagship chip replaces the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/Dimensity 9300+ split that Samsung used in the Tab S11 series, signaling deeper collaboration between Samsung and MediaTek at the high end — a trend that extends to the recently-spotted Galaxy S26 FE with its own Exynos-Qualcomm chip combination.

  • Tab S12+: 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 120Hz refresh rate, 10,600mAh battery
  • Tab S12 Ultra: 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 120Hz, 11,600mAh battery, notch-housed front camera
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 9500 (both models)
  • Software: One UI 9, with 7 generations of Android updates and 7 years of security patches
  • S Pen: Included in the box for both
  • Colors: Gray and Silver

Camera Assistant Listing Confirms Imminent Launch

Separately, SamMobile spotted that Samsung’s Camera Assistant app on the Galaxy Store now lists both the Galaxy Tab S12 and Galaxy S26 FE as supported devices — a reliable signal that hardware is finalized and launch is close. Samsung has confirmed the Tab S12 will arrive in the second half of 2026, and industry expectations point to a September unveiling alongside the Galaxy S26 FE, mirroring last year’s joint Tab S11 and S25 FE launch.

The lack of a visual redesign may disappoint buyers hoping for slimmer bezels or a notch-free Ultra, but seven years of software support and a current-generation MediaTek flagship chip should keep the Tab S12 series competitive against Apple’s iPad Pro and the growing wave of Android tablets from Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Lenovo. Pricing has not leaked yet.
