Galaxy A55 Gets the One UI 9 Beta: How to Install It

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 9 beta to the Galaxy A55, extending the beta program to another mid-range phone after the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 got their turns earlier this month. The update carries the September 2026 security patch alongside the One UI 9 features already seen on other Galaxy devices.

What’s in the Galaxy A55 Beta

The update is a download of just over 2GB, and GSMArena reports it comes with firmware versions ending in ZZI1/EZI1 in South Korea and ZZI1/EZI2 in India. Sammy Fans independently pegs the download at 2,130 megabytes with a PDA build version ending in ZZI1, which matches GSMArena’s numbers for the relevant markets.

Beyond the September security patch, Samsung has not published a Galaxy A55-specific changelog for this beta. The broader One UI 9 feature set already rolling out to other Galaxy phones this month includes design refinements, new AI tools, and performance improvements to Samsung’s own apps, though beta software can behave inconsistently and some features may not work as expected until the stable release.

How to Join the Beta

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy A55.
  2. Enroll in the One UI 9 Beta Program when the option appears for your device.
  3. Go to Settings > Software update and check for the update.
  4. Download and install once the OTA appears; expect a download of roughly 2GB.

Availability depends on region and device variant, so the beta option may not show up for every Galaxy A55 unit immediately, even within India or South Korea.

Where This Fits in Samsung’s Rollout

The Galaxy A55 beta follows the same pattern Samsung has used all month: flagships and recent A-series phones get the beta first, with GSMArena and Sammy Fans both confirming India and South Korea as the current markets, and Sammy Fans separately noting Galaxy Quantum 5 beta sign-ups have also opened in South Korea. No US beta has been announced for the Galaxy A55 as of this update.

Samsung has not said when the stable One UI 9 release will land for the Galaxy A55. Based on how the beta program has moved for other A-series phones this cycle, a stable release is unlikely before the beta period runs its course and Samsung collects feedback, so A55 owners should expect to wait at least several more weeks after enrolling.

What This Means If You Own a Galaxy A55

If your Galaxy A55 is set to India or South Korea, check Samsung Members now to see if enrollment has opened for your unit. If you’d rather skip the beta’s rough edges and wait for the finished release, there’s no downside to holding off. Beta software occasionally introduces its own bugs, and Samsung’s own advisory is that the beta program exists specifically to surface and fix those issues before the update reaches everyone else.
