The Galaxy A15 5G is now the first phone in Samsung’s budget A1x series to ever receive a One UI beta. The One UI 9.0 (Android 17) program for it just went live in India.
Why This Matters
Samsung typically opens beta programs for a new One UI version on its A5x, A3x, and A2x series first. The cheaper A1x line is usually left out entirely. With One UI 9.0, Samsung has expanded that program down to the A1x series for the first time. The Galaxy A15 5G is the phone getting it. For a device that usually sells on price rather than software longevity, that’s a meaningful signal. It shows how far down Samsung’s lineup this Android 17 update is reaching.

How to Enroll
- Open the Samsung Members app
- Look for the One UI 9.0 beta program banner for the Galaxy A15 5G and tap it to enroll
- Go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates
- Tap Download once the beta appears, then tap Install Now when it finishes downloading
- The phone will restart to complete installation
As with any beta, expect some rough edges. Beta software isn’t as stable as a finished public release. Back up anything important before you enroll — a factory reset is sometimes the only way out if enrollment causes issues.
The Bigger Picture
This program going live for the A15 5G doesn’t automatically mean every A1x-series phone gets the same treatment. Samsung hasn’t said whether this is a one-off or the new normal for the tier. Still, it’s a real departure from past One UI beta rollouts. It’s worth watching whether Samsung extends the same courtesy to the rest of its budget lineup once One UI 9.0 reaches general release.
