It appears that Asus is planning to officially launch Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 in India on the same day as that of the global launch. We have already reported about the Dec 11 launch in Indonesia and today, Asus India has confirmed from their official twitter handle that the successor to Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be a Flipkart exclusive in India, to be officially unveiled on December 11. The embedded video in the tweet also confirms the Gorilla Glass 6 protection for the phone.

Some of the specifications that are already confirmed include the 5,000 mAh battery and 3 axis EIS support for rear camera module and a Sony IMX 486 sensor with f/1.8 aperture.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 Gaming phone to launch on December 11 in Indonesia

After some leaks and rumours, we now have an official launch date of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2. Asus has just announced (via) that it will be unveiling the successor of Zenfone Max Pro M1 next month in Indonesia on December 11. The official launch teaser along with date is revealed by Asus Indonesia social media channels on Instagram and Facebook.

Interesting to note that the launch teasers call it as a gaming phone instead of normal mid-range phone which is odd considering the fact that usually, gaming smartphones feature premium hardware of flagships instead of mid-range hardware, which is the case with M series of Asus smartphones.

ASUS ZenFone Max M2 and Max Pro M2 hardware specifications surface

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (Read Review) was launched in India almost five months back and marked the re-entry of the company with a credible entry-level smartphone for the Indian market. The phone is one of the popular devices for the 10K category and has managed to make a mark. The successor of Max Pro M1 is expected to be unveiled soon as Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 considering the fact that leaks have started to surface on the web, though we still have no clue about the official launch date.

The latest rumour comes from @rquandt indicating two models of ASUS ZenFone Max M2 for the Indian smartphone market i.e. ZB632KL (non-Pro) and ZB634KL (Pro). He also indicated the alleged hardware specifications of both the device, though they appear quite similar to the first generation of ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 except the addition of triple camera module for the Pro variant.

Coming to Zenfone Max Pro M1, it sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) 18:9 2.5D curved glass display, powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform along with 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) based stock Android operating system. In terms of camera, it features a dual camera module at rear consisting of 13MP + 5MP sensors while there is an 8MP front shooter, for the 3GB / 4GB RAM variant. In case of 6GB RAM variant, it features a dual camera module at rear consisting of 16MP + 5MP sensors while there is a 16MP front shooter. The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support.
