For last few months, Asus has been silent in terms of smartphone launches in India which may soon change as the company today announced a strategic partnership with online retail major Flipkart.Flipkart CEO Kalyan and ASUS CEO Jerry Shen announced this long-term strategic partnership to launch Indian consumer-oriented products. The first smartphone under this partnership will be the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 which is scheduled to be launched on 23rd April 2018.

Asus has not revealed any other specifications of the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) except the processor, but we already know that “Max” series is known for bigger batteries and hence we can expect a 5,000 mAh capacity or similar battery with the new phone. The company is already selling two devices in the “Max” series i.e. Zenfone Max Plus and Zenfone Max which suggest that the upcoming Max Pro (M1) may feature a FHD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display running the latest Android operating system i.e. Android 8.0 (Oreo). IN terms of camera, it may feature a dual rear camera module.

Commenting on the announcement, ASUS CEO Jerry Shen said:

“As a core pillar of our consumer centric strategy in India, we see tremendous opportunity in creating products and services that address India’s special market needs. With Flipkart’s partnership, we aim to gain more insights about Indian consumers’ needs which can help us develop even more suitable products for the Indian market. Flipkart’s unparalleled distribution reach and marketing strengths will help ASUS build strong awareness for our innovative high value products and reach consumers across India. We strongly believe this collaboration will provide both companies better opportunity to provide delightful propositions to Indian consumers.”
