Google have announced that they will begin to roll out Android 4.4 KitKat for the Nexus 10 and the Nexus 7 (2012, 2013).

Android kitkat update

This announcement comes exactly two weeks after the launch of the Nexus 5 and the KitKat firmware.

Google Tweeted about the OTA update which should hit users starting from today.

Starting today, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10 will be getting a tasty update to Android 4.4, KitKat

— Android (@Android) November 13, 2013

Interestingly, Google also said Nexus 4 and the Nexus 7 3G models will have the roll out soon.

Stay tuned, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 versions with mobile data will be getting the update soon! http://t.co/TTRzORl4js

They have not mentioned why, but I am guessing since both devices have Mobile Data connectivity, they are fixing some minor issues relating to it.

That shouldn’t stop the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 users from celebrating.

Google will upload the factory images at this page soon, but only after the OTA update has reached a fair amount of users..

What are you waiting for? Start tapping the Check Update button on your tablet. And let us know if you manage to grab the OTA update.
