These builds are confirmed on Verizon. We haven’t seen sourced releases for AT&T, T-Mobile or unlocked models yet. Don’t assume yours has the patch until it shows up on your phone.
What’s in the update
Not much you’ll notice. Verizon’s changelog for each model says only that the update brings the latest Android security patches. There are no listed features or bug fixes.
That’s still worth installing. Monthly patches close security holes that attackers can exploit. They’re the main reason to keep a phone current between One UI releases.
How to install it
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
Verizon estimates about 6 to 10 minutes to download and another 6 to 10 minutes to install.
Rollout timeline
Verizon began pushing the update on October 22. Newer Samsung phones got the October patch first. The Galaxy S26 series picked it up earlier, as did the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 in Europe and India. If your phone hasn’t shown the update yet, check again over the next few days.
