Samsung says sales of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra in Europe rose 45% in the nine weeks after their August 7, 2026 launch. The comparison is against Galaxy Z Fold7 sales over the same weeks in 2025. Samsung shared no unit numbers or revenue.

What Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 sales figure compares
The number comes from Samsung’s UK newsroom, published October 22. A footnote says the comparison is with Fold7 sales in equivalent weeks of 2025.
There’s an important catch in how the math works. Samsung counts the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra together, then compares them with the Fold7 alone. The Fold8 Ultra is Samsung’s first Ultra foldable, so this year’s lineup has an extra phone in it. A bigger lineup selling more doesn’t mean each phone is outselling its predecessor.
The headline and the body also don’t quite match. Samsung’s release headline puts the rise at almost 50%, while the figure in the text is 45%. And the whole claim rests on percentages, with no unit counts and no third-party tracker data behind it. Treat the record-sales framing as Samsung’s marketing until independent numbers arrive.
Search interest jumped in September
Samsung also cited its own Google search data for Samsung foldables across 32 European countries. Those include Germany, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Poland and the Nordic countries.
- September vs August 2026: searches up more than 260%
- Biggest weekly jump: 460%, for September 6–12 compared with August 30–September 5
SamMobile and Android Authority link that September spike to Apple’s iPhone Duo event, which fell in the same week. That’s their reading, not Samsung’s. The release itself doesn’t mention Apple.
How Europe compares with the US
This isn’t the first time Samsung has talked up Fold8 demand. In September, Samsung US said combined Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra purchases were tracking 30% ahead of the Z Fold7. Weeks later, the Fold8 Ultra got a $300 discount at Amazon. Both claims share the same two-phones-versus-one setup, so read them with that in mind.
