RedMagic has detailed an upgraded RGB water cooling system for the RedMagic 12 Pro+. General Manager Jiang Chao walked through the design on the company’s own official Weibo account, ahead of the phone’s October 15 launch in China. RedMagic claims this is the first phone to combine RGB lighting with a water cooling loop.

How the RedMagic 12 Pro+ loop is built
The cooling area grows over the RedMagic 11 Pro+, and the flow channels are thicker. The bigger structural change is the layout. The 12 Pro+ uses a dual-ring design with a top loop and a bottom loop.
The top loop sits over the chipset, the bottom loop runs across the battery, and the pair converge back together. RedMagic says that arrangement puts coolant over every major heat source in the phone.
Moving the liquid is a new dual-crystal-drive micro-pump. Output pressure rises from 100kPa on the 11 Pro+ to 130kPa here. The coolant itself is a fluorinated, non-conductive liquid, which RedMagic compares to the kind used in AI server cooling.
The rest of the teaser, in brief
- Bezels — down from 1.25mm on the RedMagic 11 Pro+ to 0.96mm
- Chipset — Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme, covered in our Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 breakdown
- Reservations — already open on RedMagic’s own website
- Launch — October 15, 2026 in China
What to watch for when it launches
Worth separating the two halves of that pitch. The pump pressure jump and the dual-ring routing could plausibly hold clocks higher for longer. The RGB part is styling, visible through the back panel, and does nothing for temperatures.
Sustained-performance numbers are what will decide whether a cooling system earns its space in a phone. Until someone runs a long gaming session on retail hardware, RedMagic’s claim of a first stays a marketing line rather than a measured advantage.
