The OnePlus 16 will ship with a fourth-generation Oriental Screen panel built around a new X4 luminescent material. OnePlus and display maker BOE unveiled it together at a dedicated technical briefing. The headline number is refresh rate. The panel runs at 165Hz for everyday use and can push up to 185Hz in compatible games.

What the X4 material changes
Pushing a phone panel past 120Hz usually costs battery. OnePlus claims the X4 emitter is efficient enough that 165Hz draws power comparable to the previous generation’s 120Hz mode. That figure comes from the company itself, not an independent measurement. It is the claim worth testing first on a retail unit.
OnePlus China president Li Jie presented the panel. The two companies also described hardware-level brightness control that reaches down to 1 nit. That is aimed at reading in a dark room without the screen glaring back. Every sub-pixel reportedly goes through three rounds of calibration for colour consistency.
Driving all of it is a new custom P4 display processor. OnePlus pairs it with what it calls Ultra-Dynamic Clarity Technology for fast-moving content. The panel is framed by symmetrical 1.15mm bezels on all four sides.
OnePlus 16 availability
The phone goes official on October 12, 2026 at 19:00 China time. androidpure has already covered the China launch date and the expected November India arrival. As of October 9, OnePlus 16 pricing is unannounced.
