Amazon has refreshed the Fire TV Stick 4K at $59.99, and the two changes you will actually notice are physical. There is a redesigned remote with tactile, indented buttons. The stick can also draw power directly from a compatible TV’s USB port, so no wall adapter is needed on those sets.
The stick ships today in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Australia. Amazon says more countries follow in late October, and India is not on the launch list.
Fire TV Stick 4K Pricing and Availability
The regular price is $59.99. Amazon is also running a limited-time launch offer of $29.99, a 50 percent cut, during Prime Big Deal Days. That discount is explicitly US-only, so readers in other markets should expect the regular price.
The new Fire TV Remote is sold separately at $14.99, with preorders open now and shipping in late October. A more expensive Fire TV Remote Plus is due in early 2027, with an aluminium housing, backlit buttons and Find My Remote.
The Remote Is the Real Redesign
Amazon has given the remote an asymmetric shape, flat at the top and curved at the bottom. It should sit differently in your hand depending on which end you grab. The Home button is now distinct metal, and several buttons are indented so you can navigate by feel. There is a customisable star button for a shortcut of your choosing.
None of that is glamorous, and all of it matters more day to day than a spec bump. A remote you can use in the dark beats a flat slab of identical rubber buttons. Worth noting, though: it is a $14.99 accessory if you want it on an existing Fire TV device.
Fire TV Stick 4K Specifications
Amazon claims the new stick is 20 to 40 percent faster than competing 4K streaming sticks. The company also says apps launch over 35 percent faster and content starts nearly 20 percent faster. Those are Amazon’s own figures, not independently benchmarked numbers.

Vega OS, Not Android
That last bullet deserves a flag. This Fire TV Stick 4K runs Vega OS, Amazon’s own platform. It is not the Android-derived Fire OS that older Fire TV devices used.
Amazon puts the app catalogue at more than 2,000 titles. That is a real number, but a much smaller one than an Android-based platform inherits by default. If you rely on a niche streaming app, or on sideloading, check that it exists on Vega before you buy.
Amazon has also trimmed its stick lineup to three tiers: Fire TV Stick HD, Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
