The ColorOS 17 eligible devices list is the piece OnePlus deliberately left out last week. When OnePlus confirmed on July 16 that it was retiring OxygenOS in favour of Oppo’s ColorOS 17, it said only that a “detailed rollout roadmap” would come “at a later stage” — as androidpure reported when the switch was made official. That gap has now been filled, not by OnePlus, but by a device-by-device list that surfaced on July 21 showing which OnePlus and Nord phones and tablets are in scope for the move to ColorOS 17 — and which ones are being left behind on OxygenOS with security patches only.
A word of caution up front: OnePlus itself has still not published this list. It was first compiled and posted by Indian tech leaker Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) on X, and independently corroborated by Android Authority, which added the tablet and N-series entries and says it reached out to OnePlus but had no response by the time it published. In other words, this is a well-corroborated list extrapolated from OnePlus’s own already-public, per-device software-support commitments — reliable, but reportedly, not an official OnePlus announcement. Treat it as such until OnePlus posts the real roadmap.
Which OnePlus and Nord phones are getting ColorOS 17
According to the list that’s surfaced, the switch covers the current flagship line, the recent Nord and Nord CE models, the newer N-series, and the Pad tablets. Here’s the reported eligible roster:

- OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R
- OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 13T
- OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R
Nord series

- OnePlus N6 (and the unreleased N6x, once it launches)

If your phone is on this list, the reported plan matches what OnePlus said officially: the update is opt-in, at least for now. In its community statement, OnePlus said that “users globally with existing OnePlus devices that fall within the eligible upgrade scope will have the option to voluntarily update to the latest ColorOS [17].” A rollback to OxygenOS is also promised, though OnePlus has said the exact rollback versions are “subject to future official announcements” — so treat the “you can always go back” reassurance as a stated intention rather than a guaranteed, spelled-out path.
OnePlus phones that won’t get ColorOS 17
This is the half that matters just as much, because an end-of-support cutoff costs you more than a skin change you didn’t ask for. Per the same reporting, these devices are not moving to ColorOS 17:
- OnePlus 11R
- The entire OnePlus 10 series
- The entire OnePlus 9 series
- The entire OnePlus 8 series
- The entire OnePlus 7 series
- Nord 3
- Nord CE 4 and Nord CE 4 Lite
These phones reportedly stay on their current OxygenOS build and keep getting bug fixes and security patches — but no ColorOS 17, because they’ve already used up, or are close to using up, their promised major-update cycles. If you own one, nothing breaks overnight, but you should read this as the practical end of the road for feature updates on that device.
The trade-off OnePlus’s “streamlining” language skips over
OnePlus frames the move in efficiency terms. Its statement said the change is meant to “streamline software development, accelerate the delivery of updates and improve software quality by making better use of shared engineering and R&D capabilities” — the two companies have shared a codebase since 2021, and Realme UI is being folded into ColorOS as well, so from OnePlus’s side this is one platform instead of three.
For the person holding the phone, though, it’s less tidy. OxygenOS built its following precisely by staying close to stock Android: lighter on pre-installed apps, no built-in ads. ColorOS has historically gone the other way — heavier customization, more bundled apps, and more ads baked into the system. So eligible owners are being offered a voluntary move onto a not-yet-released skin they didn’t choose, while excluded owners are being left on a skin that’s now officially being phased out. Neither is straightforwardly an “upgrade.” It’s worth deciding, when the roadmap and the actual ColorOS 17 build land, whether the version on your phone today is one you’d rather keep.
When will it reach your phone?
There’s no confirmed timeline yet. OnePlus has only said the detailed rollout roadmap is coming “at a later stage,” and the eligibility list above is reporting, not an official schedule — so exact dates, regional order, and the ColorOS 17 build itself are all still to be announced. For now, the useful takeaway is simpler: check whether your device is on the “in” list or the “out” list, and watch for OnePlus’s official roadmap to confirm — or revise — what’s reported here.
