Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra officially announced

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra have been officially announced. Here’s all you need to know about this year’s biggest flagship phones.

The Galaxy Note20 sports a 6.7-inches Super AMOLED Full HD+ Infinity-O display  with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 393 PPI, 60 Hz refresh rate, support for HDR10+ and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5,, The screen is flat, and is equipped with an Ultrasonic In-display Fingerprint Scanner.

The Note20 features a 10 MP punch-hole selfie lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The phone runs on One UI based on Android 10, and is powered by a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor (in the US) and Exynos 990 (rest of the world). It has  8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and comes with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Galaxy Note20 5G  comes in 128GB/256GB storage variants.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 is backed by a 4,300 mAh battery that supports 25W Fast Charging over a USB Type-C port. The camera department on the phone comprises a 12 MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture PDAF, Optical image stabilization, a 12MP 120° ultra wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 64 MP Telephoto loons that supports 3x hybrid optical zoom, has an f/2.0 aperture, 30x space zoom, LED Flash. The device will be available in 3 colours: Mystic Gray, Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra has a slightly bigger screen which is a 6.9-inches Super AMOLED Quad HD+  Infinity-O  display with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels, 496 PPI, and supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+,. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and has an Ultrasonic In-display Fingerprint Scanner.

The OS, the CPU, and the selfie camera are the same as on the regular model. The Galaxy Note20 Ultra has a bigger battery with a capacity of 4,500 mAh. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage for the 4G variant, while the 5G model has 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB  storage.

The main cameras on the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra consists of a 108 MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, OIS, a 12MP 120° ultra wide-angle that has an f/2.2 aperture, and a 12MP periscope lens, with 5x optical zoom f/3.0 aperture, laser autofocus, 50x space zoom, LED Flash. The phone will be available in 3 colours: Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, Mystic White.

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 phones do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The devices are IP 68 rated for water and dust resistance.

Samsung Galaxy Note20 prices

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 4G variant’s price is £849 or €949 (about Rs. 84,000) for the 8GB/128GB model. The Galaxy Note20 5G price starts at $999.99 (about Rs. 75,000) for the 8GB/128GB variant, while the 8GB/256GB model costs £949 or €1049 (about Rs. 94,000).

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra price starts at £1,179 or €1,299 or $1,299.99 (about Rs. 97,000) for the 12GB/256GB version. The 12GB/512GB version costs – $1,449.99 or € 1,399 or (about Rs. 1,09,000)

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 series is available for pre-order from today in some regions, and will start shipping from August 21st.
