Lenovo has launched a new smartphone called the A5000.

Lenovo-A5000

The phone was launched in Russia last week, and is now available in India

The Lenovo A5000 sports a 5-inch HD Display (720p) with a pixel density of 300ppi. It has a splash-proof nano coating.

The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1 GB of RAM, while the graphics are handled by a Mali T760-MP2 GPU.

It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat,and comes with some pre-loaded apps:

  • SHAREit – Wireless filesharing without WiFi or data.
  • CLONEit – Transfer all data to the new phone.
  • Security – Protects from viruses, and also speeds up the phone
  • SYNCit – Back up and restore contacts, SMS messages, and call logs.

The phone has 8GB of internal storage, and supports up to 32GB expandable storage via microSD. The A5000 features an 8 Megapixel camera on the rear, with LED flash and Aurofocus. The selfie lens is a 2 Megapixel front camera.

The phone packs a 4,000mAH battery, which supports Quick Charge. A 15 minute charge can deliver up tp 4 hours of talktime.  The battery can be fully charged in 3 hours.

The Lenovo A5000 is a Dual SIM device, but there is no 4G LTE connectivity. The phone comes in two colours: Black and White.

The Lenovo A5000 has been priced at Rs. 9,999, and is available for pre-order at the company’s own TheDoStore. Lenovo will begin shipping the phone on April 30th.

We have absolutely no clue on the absurd pricing of the phone. Even the Lenovo A6000, A600+ and A7000 have better specs and offer better value for money.
