Internet.org App launched in India, offers free basic internet services for Reliance users

Facebook has launched it’s Internet.org app in India.

Internet.org is a non profit organisation, an initiative by Facebook, with an aim to bring free internet access to basic services, for people around the Globe.

The service was launched in 2013, and is available in 6 Countries: Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Colombia, Ghana and India. Facebook has partnered with Reliance Communications in India, to provide free access to the following services.

  3. amarujala.com
  4. AP Speaks
  5. Babajob
  6. BabyCenter & MAMA
  7. BBC News
  8. Bing Search
  9. Cleartrip: Check train and flight schedules & buy tickets
  10. Daily Bhaskar: Read local news
  11. Dictionary.com: Search for meanings of words
  12. ESPN Cricinfo: Get cricket updates
  13. Facebook: Communicate with friends and family
  14. Facts for Life: Find health and hygiene information
  15. Girl Effect
  16. HungamaPlay: Listen to music
  17. IBNLive: Read news
  18. iLearn: Learn from Women Entrepreneurs
  19. India Today: Read local news
  20. Internet Basics: Learn about the basics of the Internet
  21. Jagran: Read local news
  22. Jagran Josh: Get education and career information
  23. Maalai Malar: Read news in Tamil
  24. Maharashtra Times: Read news in Marathi

Free access to the above services are only available for Reliance customers from six Indian states: Tamil Nadu, Mahararashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana.

Users can access Internet.org using the Official Android App, which is available from Google Play.

You can also visit Internet.org from UC Browser for Internet.org  (a special version of UC Browser), or from the start page of Opera Mini from your Reliance connected device.
