vivo T5 5G Launches in India at Rs 34,999 With a 7,050mAh Battery

The vivo T5 5G is official in India, starting at ₹34,999 and going on sale from 9 September. It runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 Turbo, carries a 7,050mAh battery with 44W charging, and ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6. The headline number for anyone keeping a phone a long time is the software promise: three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

vivo T5 5G price in India

There are four configurations, and the entry price buys the smallest one:

  • 6GB + 128GB — ₹34,999
  • 8GB + 128GB — ₹39,999
  • 8GB + 256GB — ₹44,999
  • 12GB + 256GB — ₹49,999

Colours are Royal Bronze and Silver Green. Sales start 9 September through vivo’s Indian website, Flipkart and partner retail stores.

Worth pausing on that ladder. Going from the ₹34,999 base to the top 12GB/256GB model costs ₹15,000 — a 43% premium for RAM and storage, on a phone whose specification sheet is otherwise identical across all four. At ₹49,999 the T5 5G is no longer competing with mid-rangers.

vivo T5 5G specifications

This is a familiar package if you follow the Indian mid-range closely. GSMArena notes that the T5 5G is a version of the iQOO Z11, which went on sale in India last week — same design, same specs, same memory tiers, same prices, different badge. vivo owns both brands, so this is a distribution decision rather than a new product.

  • Display — 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED, 2,800 x 1,260, 144Hz, 3,000 nits peak brightness, punch-hole cutout
  • Processor — MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo, with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage
  • Rear cameras — 50MP Sony IMX882 primary with OIS, 8MP ultrawide, circular flash in the “Skyline” module
  • Front camera — 32MP; both front and primary cameras shoot 4K at 30fps
  • Battery — 7,050mAh with 44W wired charging
  • Durability — MIL-STD-810H certification plus IP68 and IP69 ratings, with wet-touch support for using the screen with damp hands
  • Other — in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, 3,800mm² vapour chamber cooling

A 7,050mAh cell in a phone at this price is genuinely generous, and IP69 on a sub-₹40,000 handset is still uncommon. The compromise sits next to it: LPDDR4X memory rather than LPDDR5, and 44W charging that will take a while to refill a battery this large.

Three OS upgrades and five years of security patches

The update promise deserves a closer look than a bullet point. Shipping on Android 16, three OS upgrades takes the T5 5G to Android 19. That is a solid commitment for a phone starting at ₹34,999, and it puts vivo in the same conversation as Samsung’s mid-range A series on paper.

But note how the two halves of the promise fit together. Security patches run for five years while OS upgrades stop after three, so the last roughly two years of support are patches on an Android version that is already two generations old. That is still worth having — security updates are the ones that matter most for safety. Just do not read “five years” as five years of a current phone.

The patch cadence is the other open question. Monthly and quarterly are very different things over five years, and as of this writing no cadence has surfaced in coverage of the launch.
