Poco X8 Power Launches in India at Rs 35,999 With a 10,000mAh Battery

Poco has launched the X8 Power 5G in India at Rs 35,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, with the 8GB + 256GB model at Rs 38,999. The phone’s headline number is a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, among the largest fitted to a mainstream smartphone. The price is the more interesting figure, because it puts a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 phone well above Rs 30,000.

Poco X8 Power price in India and availability

  • 8GB + 128GB: Rs 35,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: Rs 38,999
  • Colours: Yellow and Black
  • On sale: September 11 from 12:00 PM IST, exclusively on Flipkart

Poco is pushing a lower number in its own marketing. A Rs 2,000 coupon plus a Rs 1,000 bank or exchange bonus brings the base model to what the company calls an effective Rs 32,999. That is worth reading carefully. Rs 35,999 is the actual price, and the Rs 3,000 gap depends on you holding the right bank card or having a phone to trade in. Twelve-month no-cost EMI starts at Rs 2,750 a month.

The Poco X8 launched alongside it at Rs 29,999, or an effective Rs 26,999 on the same terms.

What the battery costs you

The 10,000mAh cell is real and it is the reason to buy this phone. Poco says it delivers up to 3.5 days of use, and it charges at 100W with 27W wired reverse charging. The company also cites TUV SUD certification for retaining at least 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles.

The tradeoff is weight and thickness: 229g and 8.65mm. That is a heavy phone by 2026 standards, and no amount of battery marketing changes what it feels like in a pocket.

The other tradeoff is less visible. The Rs 35,999 base variant ships with UFS 2.2 storage, while the Rs 38,999 model gets far quicker UFS 4.1. Storage speed affects app launches, installs and large-file transfers every single day. Paying nearly Rs 36,000 for the older storage standard is a real gap. If you are buying this phone, the 256GB model is the one worth the extra Rs 3,000.

Poco X8 Power specifications

  • Display: 6.83-inch 1.5K (2772×1280) AMOLED, 120Hz, up to 3,500 nits peak, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, Gorilla Glass Victus 2
  • Processor: Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 with Adreno 812 graphics
  • Memory: 8GB LPDDR5X, 128GB UFS 2.2 or 256GB UFS 4.1
  • Rear cameras: 50MP f/1.5 main with OIS, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, 4K video
  • Front camera: 32MP f/2.2, 4K video
  • Battery: 10,000mAh, 100W HyperCharge, 27W reverse wired charging
  • Durability: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings
  • Software: HyperOS 3 on Android 16, with four OS upgrades and six years of security patches
  • Other: stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, in-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, 229g, 8.65mm

The software commitment is the quietly strong part of this launch. Four OS upgrades and six years of patches on a sub-Rs-40,000 phone is a long window for this segment. It is a genuine reason to weigh the X8 Power against cheaper rivals, and it partly offsets the chipset for anyone who keeps a phone for years.

How it fits against the rest of the range

We covered the Poco X8 and X8 Power India launch date in August, and the global Poco X8 at EUR 399.99 earlier this month. The India-market X8 Power is the only model in the family with the 10,000mAh cell.

At Rs 35,999 it lands in a crowded stretch of the Indian market where phones with faster chips are readily available. Poco’s pitch is straightforward: you are paying for endurance, durability ratings and a long support window, not for peak performance. Whether that is the right trade depends entirely on how often you are away from a charger.
