As expected, Xiaomi has finally unveiled their next Redmi Series smartphones i.e. Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus which can be considered as the successor to the Popular Redmi 4. Xiaomi Redmi 5 &Redmi 5 Plus devices join the bandwagon of Fullscreen 18:9 display smartphones and come with 5.7-inch / 5.99-inch full-screen 18:9 display respectively. Out of these two, Redmi 5 comes with HD+ display while the plus variant comes with the FHD+ display.
Redmi 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor whereas Redmi 5 Plus is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor. In terms of battery, the standard variant is backed by a 3300mAh battery, while plus variant comes with a 4000mAh battery. Both the smartphones run Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) based operating system with MIUI 9 on top.
In terms of camera, both the devices come with same lenses i.e 12 MP main rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size sensor and a 5 MP front-shooter with selfie flash. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear panel.
