Xiaomi Redmi 3s with Snapdragon 430, fingerprint, 4100 mAh battery launched for 699 Yuan

Xiaomi has just launched Redmi 3s in China for a price of 699 Yuan (~Rs. 7,000 or ~$106) which is an upgrade over existing Redmi 3. Redmi 3S sports a full metal magnesium alloy uni-body design with 5 inch HD display (720 x 1080 pixel resolution) and is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU & 2 GB / 3 GB RAM (two variants).

In term of internal storage it comes with 16 GB of ROM for 2 GB RAM variant and 32 GB ROM for 3 GB RAM variant. It comes with support for expandable storage up to 128 GB with microSD card. It runs on Xiaomi own latest MIUI 7 based on Android (We are not sure of the Android version here, it can be either Android 5.1 or Android 6.0).

In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front-facing camera, f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras support full HD 1080p video recording. The camera apps comes with different modes such as panorama mode, HDR mode, scene mode, countdown and even a manual mode.

It comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back just below the camera.

Redmi 3s is backed by a battery of 4000 mAh / 4100 mAh (Typ) capacity. It is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 144 grams. In terms of connectivity it comes with Dual SIM support but uses a Hybrid Dual SIM slot (micro + nano / microSD) with 4G LTE support but not a dedicated slot for MicroSD card.

Xiaomi Redmi 3s (2 GB + 16 GB) variant is priced at 699 yuan (~Rs. 7,000 or ~$106) whereas (3 GB + 32 GB) variant is priced at 899 yuan (~Rs. 9,000 or ~$135) in China. It will be available for sale through mi.com and three color options are available i.e. Dark grey, silver and gold. At the moment, we have no information on its global roll-out such as India.
