Straight Talk’s cheapest unlimited plan just got a real upgrade. Silver Unlimited, at $45 a month, now includes Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network and 15 GB of hotspot data. There’s no change to the monthly base price.
Verizon announced the Straight Talk unlimited plan changes on October 19. Gold and Platinum get upgrades too, mostly in hotspot data and international calling.
Silver is the plan that gains the most. Verizon says its $45 base price hasn’t changed since 2009. Verizon also claims Ultra Wideband is 3x faster than standard 5G, though that’s the carrier’s own figure.
“You shouldn’t have to choose between keeping your monthly costs low and getting the plan you actually need.”
That’s Mike Sarcone, Vice President of Commercial Growth & Retention at Verizon Value, in the company’s announcement.

Where to sign up
Straight Talk is sold at Walmart stores, Walmart.com and StraightTalk.com. It’s one of Verizon Value’s brands, alongside Total Wireless, Visible and Tracfone.
Keep in mind that Verizon quotes base prices. Taxes and fees can sit on top, so your actual bill may be higher. If you’re shopping around, Verizon’s Visible One bundle pairs fiber and phone service from $55 a month.
