Sony has officially announced the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact at IFA 2016 in Berlin today. The devices come with an advanced photographic technology, which the company calls triple image sensing.

Sony-XZ-Forest-Blue

This uses three sensors: a 23 megapixel Sony Exmor RS lens for AutoFocus and Predictive Hybrid AF to predict and track subjects for blur-free motion capture, a Laser AutoFocus for low light conditions, and an RGBC-IR (Red, green, blue, clear and infrared) for accurate colors.

Xperia XZ

The Xperia XZ sports a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p TRILUMINOS display with Corning Gorilla Glass, and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The device is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, with 3GB RAM. The phone comes in two variants, one with 32GB of internal storage and a Single SIM card slot, and another with 64GB of internal storage and supports up to 256 GB expandable storage via a microSD card slot.

The Xperia XZ features a 13 megapixel front camera with support for ISO6400, and a 22mm/90-degree wide angle lens for low light selfies. The phone has a metal back, a USB Type-C port, and houses an embedded fingerprint scanner in the power button, which is placed on the side. The XZ is IP65/68 certified for dust and water resistance, and is backed by a 2900 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge, Qnovo Adaptive Charging and Stamina mode.
