Redmi Pad with 2K display, 8000mAh battery launched in India

Xiaomi has launched a new tablet in India. This is the Redmi Pad.

The device is equipped with a 10.61-inches 2K LCD display with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, a pixel density of 220 PPI, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Redmi Pad is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 processor: with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 to handle the graphics. The tablet has 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.2 storage which can further be expanded up to 512GB with a microSD card.

The Redmi Pad runs on  MIUI for Pad, which is based on MIUI 13 coupled with Android 12. It supports Split-screen to run two windows side by side, Floating windows to keep an app’s window on the screen over another app, and Multi windows that lets you run two split-screen apps and one floating window for using a total of three apps at once.  Xiaomi has promised to deliver 2 versions of Android upgrades, and MIUI updates (with security updates) across 3 years.

The tablet has an 8 megapixels camera on the rear, and a similar 8MP front camera on the front for video calls and selfies. Xiaomi has packed an 8000mAh battery in the Redmi Pad, it supports 18W fast charging, via a USB Type-C port. The device comes with a 22.5W charger in the box.

Connectivity options on the tablet include Dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.2. It has quad speakers and supports Dolby Atmos audio. The Redmi Pad weighs 465g, and measures 250.5 x 158.1 x 7.1mm.

Redmi Pad price in India

Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Pad at Rs. 12,999 for the 3GB/64GB version, while the 4GB/128GB costs Rs. 14,999. The top-end version with 6GB/128GB carries a price tag of Rs. 16,999. The tablet will be available across Mi.com, Mi Homes, Flipkart, and retail channels from 5th October.

The 6GB/128 GB Mint Green variant will be exclusively available on Mi.com. Buyers can avail a discount of 10% by using a Bank of Baroda card to make their purchase at Mi.com from 5th to 9th October.
