Redmi Note 8 with Snapdragon 665, 48MP cameras launched in India

The Redmi Note 8 has been launched in India, alongside the Note 8 Pro. The devices had debuted in China nearly 2 months ago, before landing here.

Redmi Note 8 specs

The Note 8 sports a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display with a water-drop notch that has a 19:5:9 aspect ratio with a 90% screen to body ratio. The phone has a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back panel.

The device runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Processor with an Adreno 610 GPU, with 4GB/6GB of RAM and has 64GB/128GB of storage. The device has a dedicated microSD card that supports up to 256GB of expandable memory.

The camera department boasts quad cameras on the back comprising a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 1.12μm pixel size, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture, 2cm, 1.75μm pixel size. The phones support PDAF, EIS and has a Dual LED Flash. The selfie lens on the device is a 13MP, front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Note 8 is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging (included in the box), over a USB Type-C port. It does retain the 3.5mm headphone jack. The device has a P2i Nano Coating for splash resistance.

The Redmi Note 8 has been priced at Rs.9,999 in India, for the 4GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/128GB variant will cost Rs. 12,999. The device will go on sale from October 21st on Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home stores. The Note 8 will be available in Moonlight White, Neptune Blue, Cosmic Purple and Space Black colours.
