Redmi K100 Pro Max Shows Up With a 9,070mAh Battery Before Launch

Battery capacity was the open question left hanging by Redmi’s own teaser campaign, and it has now turned up on a show floor. The Redmi K100 Pro Max battery is a 9,070mAh cell, according to Chinese outlet IT之家, which saw the phone on display at the China Digital Entertainment Expo (ChinaJoy) ahead of the 11 August launch. Redmi has not published the figure itself, so treat it as a show-floor sighting rather than a confirmed spec sheet, but it is the first hard number attached to a phone that has otherwise been teased almost entirely on its display and its chip.

Redmi K100 Pro Max battery: 9,070mAh in a 6.9-inch body

9,070mAh would put the K100 Pro Max near the top of the current Android field, and comfortably past the 7,000-8,000mAh cells that have become normal on Chinese performance phones over the past year. The same report describes the unit on show as having a 6.9-inch flat display with very slim bezels, a metal frame curved on all four sides, and a one-piece metal camera housing.

Redmi product manager Hu Xinxin also said in a post that the K100 Pro Max delivers a 40 percent year-on-year improvement in battery life, and that the phone’s tuning of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is more mature, with steadier frame rates and better power draw, IT之家 reports.

That 40 percent number is Redmi’s own claim, made without any stated test conditions – no screen brightness, no refresh rate, no workload, and no named comparison device. A bigger cell plus a more efficient chip generation plausibly adds up to a large gain, but “40 percent” from a product manager in a promotional post a week before launch is marketing, not a measurement. Wait for the launch-day slide deck, and then for independent screen-on-time testing, before treating it as a number you can plan a purchase around.

What Redmi has actually confirmed so far

The officially announced parts of the K100 Pro Max are still mostly about gaming performance, as covered in our earlier piece on the K100 Pro Max’s 185Hz display and D2 graphics chip:

  • Display: 185Hz refresh rate, described by Xiaomi as its first 185Hz gaming panel, with native support claimed for more than 30 popular titles
  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with a D2 AI graphics chip for concurrent frame generation and upscaling
  • Touch response: flagship touch controller with the sampling rate raised to 480Hz
  • Connectivity: a dedicated gaming antenna, which Redmi says cuts latency
  • Audio: Sound by Bose tuning with enhanced gunshot and footstep cues in games
  • Battery: 9,070mAh per the ChinaJoy sighting; charging speed still unannounced

Still missing with nine days to go: charging wattage, camera hardware, RAM and storage tiers, and pricing in any market. Redmi has also said nothing about availability outside China, which is the detail that decides whether this is relevant to most readers at all – the K-series reaches India and other markets only selectively, and usually renamed.

When it launches

Redmi launches the K100 Pro series in China on 11 August 2026. Expect the full specification set, including whatever battery capacity Redmi puts on its own slide, at that event.
