Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 officially announced; brings support for triple cameras, Kryo 460 CPU

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 mobile platform has been officially announced. The new processor seems to be an upgrade over the Snapdragon 710.

The processor now supports triple cameras on the front and the back, with the Spectra 250L ISP, which can support up to 5x optical zoom and Bokeh mode.  The new chipset is the first in the 600-series, to support HD slo-mo video recording at 480 fps.

According to the official spec sheet, the ISP can support a 26MP single-camera and Dual 16MP cameras, and can capture up to 25 megapixels in vivid, true-to-life color, and snapshots at 48 megapixels.

The Snapdragon 675 is built on a 11nm process, and features an octa-core Kryo 460 CPU, which can be clocked up to 2.0 GHz. Of the 8 ARM Cortex-A76 cores, 2 are performance and 6 efficiency cores. Qualcomm says that this new CPU is 20% faster than the previous gen processors. The SD 675’s CPU will be assisted by the Adreno 612 GPU to provide for a lag-free gaming experience. 

The SD 675 includes a Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem which is capable of 600 Mbps of download speeds, and 75 Mbps upload over LTE, with 3 x 20MHz CA (Carrier-aggregation). The chipset supports Dual SIM Dual VoLTE and VoWifi. 

The Wi-Fi capabilities of the Snapdragon 675 comprises of Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2×2 MU-MIMO), triband 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz + 60 GHZ. The chip is Bluetooth 5.0 + Ultra Low Power enabled, and also equipped with GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS sensors. 

The new SoC has been designed to support Quick Charge 4+. In terms of Audio, the Snapdragon 675 has a Hexagon 685 DSP, and supports Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec, smart speaker amplifier, aptX.
