Xiaomi has announced the Poco F5 5G in India. The mid-range phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor.
The mobile is equipped with a 6.67-inches Full HD+ AMOLED display. The screen has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, supports 120Hz Refresh rate, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate, and 1920 Hz PWM Dimming. The smartphone has a 93.5% screen-to-body ratio. The display supports 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The device runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Poco says it will support the phone with 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of Security updates post-launch.
The smartphone comes in 2 variants, one with 8 GB memory and the other with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Both versions have 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage.
The front camera on the Poco F5 5G is a 16 megapixels selfie lens. The phone has three cameras on the rear comprising a 64 MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8 megapixels ultra-wide angle lens, a 2 MP Macro Lens, and LED Flash. The cameras are capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second, and 1080p at 60fps.
Poco has packed a 5,000mAh battery in the device, it supports 67W fast charging via a USB Type-C port, and can charge the device to 100% in just 45 minutes. Connectivity-wise, the phone supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E Dual band 2.4/5.0 GHz, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU, GALILEO, and QZSS. The mobile has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone has Dual Stereo Speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports Dolby Atmos. Sensors on the Poco F5 5G include an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, an electronic compass, a gyroscope, and an infrared blaster.
The device has a 3725 mm2 Large Vapor Cooling with 14 Layers of Graphite Sheets to keep the temperature level low while gaming. The phone measures 74.95 x 161.11 x 7.98 mm, and weighs 181g. It has an IP 53 rating for splash resistance, and comes with a 2-Year manufacturer warranty.

The Poco F5 5G price starts at Rs. 29,999 in India for the 8 GB model, while the 12 GB trim costs Rs. 33,999. The device comes in 3 colours: Carbon Black, Electric Blue and Snowstorm White. The phone will be available from Flipkart on May 16th.
Xiaomi is offering an introductory discount of Rs. 3,000 off the prices of the Poco F5 5G, so the 12 GB version will be available for Rs. 30,999, and the 8 GB model will cost Rs. 26,999.
