British Indie Game studio Playrise Digital have announced that their popular iOS game, Table Top Racing is due to arrive on Google Play next week.

Table Top Racing

One of the developers of the Liverpool based studio, Nick Burcombe,  is the co-creator of the superhit futuristic Playstation racer, Wipeout.

Table Top Racing is an arcade racer like Mario Kart, i.e besides the thrill of racing cars, it will have combat too. The game will have console quality graphics, and features  17 cars & 8 table top race tracks spread over 4 Championships. The cars are upgradable, and will also have wheel-weapons. I don’t know why, but wheel-weapons always remind me of the classic movie Ben Hur starring Charlton Heston.

Now coming back to the game, here is a list of features that the developer posted on Reddit.

  •     28 Achievements
  •     19 Leader boards
  •     17 Upgradeable Cars
  •     8 Incredible Race Tracks
  •     4 Fierce Championships
  •     30+ Special Events
  •     6 Unique Game Play Modes
  •     9 Cunning Power-Ups
  •     Saved Game Synchronization over Cloudsave
  •     Multi-language Support: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese.

Check out the video of the iOS version of the game:

Table Top Racing will be a free-to-play game, i.e, it will have In-app purchases. But they are completely optional. The game will not have any evil timers. Although there may be a few cars which can be obtained only via an In-app purchase.

But most of the IAPs are for the various coin packs and a coin doubler, similar to the iOS version of the game. Buying an IAP will also disable the advertisements from the game. You can use the coins to buy cars or upgrade your existing one.

The developers have said that a Multiplayer mode could be added in a future update.

Table Top Racing is set to storm on to Google Play on 24th January. We will update you when the game goes live.
