Vivo and iQOO owners in India have until tomorrow, September 20, to sign up for the OriginOS 7 Preview Program, the first chance to try the Android 17-based skin before its full rollout. Only two phones qualify for now: the vivo X300 Pro and the iQOO 15.
How to join the OriginOS 7 India Preview Program
Registrations opened September 16 and close September 20, with just 500 slots available for each device. Eligible owners can apply from within the phone itself, through Settings, then System Update, then Upcoming Updates, then Closed Beta Sign-Up. Applying does not guarantee a spot — vivo reviews every submission before selecting participants.
This is beta software, so vivo is warning applicants to expect the usual early-build issues: bugs, battery drain, and apps that may not behave correctly. Anyone who isn’t comfortable troubleshooting a daily driver should wait for the stable release instead.
When does everyone else get OriginOS 7?
Vivo has not yet published a global rollout timeline. That announcement is expected on September 21, alongside wider details on which additional markets and devices the update will reach. What vivo has confirmed is a complete rollout schedule for China, running from early October 2026 through the end of January 2027, and that gives a rough sense of how the company is sequencing its own device lineup.
It’s worth being careful here: the dates below are for vivo and iQOO’s China lineup only. Gizmochina, which first reported the schedule, expects global models to follow a few weeks behind on the same device list, but that is the outlet’s own expectation, not a vivo commitment.

Even after the global rollout details land on September 21, treat any date for India, Europe, or Southeast Asia as provisional until vivo confirms it directly for that market.
What’s new in OriginOS 7
Built on top of Android 17, OriginOS 7 brings a “Liquid Glass”-style visual overhaul with reworked animations and lighting, new Liquid Themes for the lock screen, a system-wide sticker library, and an Atomic Workbench layout aimed at simpler candybar-style phones. Vivo is also adding system-level AI tools that can pull context from screenshots, photos, files, notes, calendars, and recordings.
The X300 Pro and iQOO 15 are getting first access for a reason: they’re vivo’s current flagships, and a beta this early is as much about stress-testing the update on its newest silicon as it is about giving fans early access.
