OnePlus held a Reddit AMAA (Ask Me Almost Anything), to promote its upcoming flagship device, the OnePlus 2.

And here are the interesting bits from the thread.

OnePlus 2 Display

A redditor questioned if there would be different variants of the OnePlus 2, with respect to screen size.

To which, OnePlus posted the above image, and revealed that a OnePlus 2 is actually underneath the OnePlus One in the photo.

So, it will be smaller in dimensions. It is possible that they reduced the bezel size, or the phone could possibly be sporting a display size between 5-inches to 5.3-inches.

OnePlus 2 Camera

Camera will be a high priority, and that the OnePlus 2’s camera will have some unique features.

OnePlus 2 Battery

The OnePlus 2 will pack a massive 3300mAh battery.

Will OnePlus 2 support Custom ROMs?

The dev community has been extremely kind to us, partly – I think – because we’ve been all about giving back where we can, keeping our platform open and accessible, and encouraging the curiosity that makes Android what it is. That’s how it should be.

What about the issues related to overheating in the Snapdragon 810?

Though the reply from OnePlus did not sound very convincing, it says that the phone has been through some really extensive testing process.

One Plus 2 Charging Cable

The charging cable of the OnePlus 2, will be longer than the OnePlus One’s 3.3 feet length. It is said to be around 5 feet in length.

Will the OnePlus 2 have a hear rate sensor.

No, it won’t.

OnePlus 2 network band support

US GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8 FDD-LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17

Europe GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/5/8 FDD-LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

Variants of the OnePlus 2

There will be three variants, Europe/Asia, North America and China versions. These could be the A2001, A2003, and A2005  we have reported earlier.

OnePlus 2 Fingerprint sensor

The phone will not use Qualcomm Sense ID, instead it will have a physical sensor.

OnePlus 2 Back Cover

It will have newer and better Styleswaps.

OnePlus 2 Exchange offer or Trade-in ?

There will not be any such offers.

OnePlus also answered some general questions in the AMAA.

Will the OnePlus One be available after the launch of the OnePlus 2?

Yes, it will be.

Will OnePlus One users be prioritized? What about the invite system?

The invite system has been improved, and existing users will get easy access to OnePlus 2 invites. Additionally early forum members will also be given invites.

Will the OnePlus cardboard be available for purchase after the launch of OnePlus 2?

It has not been planned, but it may be sold.

Any plans for OnePlus 2 tablets, OnePlus 2 wearables?

The company’s representatives asked users what they wanted to see. So it is possible.

How will the Virtual Reality launch be broadcasted ?

An application will be released for the launch, which users can download and use it without the cardboard or with it, to watch the keynote.
