Nothing Phone 2 launched starting at Rs. 44,999 in India

The Nothing Phone 2 has been launched in India. The flagship phone retains the Glyph LED design that was seen in its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 1.

The Phone 2 is powered by last gen’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inches Full HD+ flexible OLED display. The LTPO panel supports a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, has a pixel density of 394 PPI, 1000000:1 contrast ratio, 1600 nits brightness, 1Hz – 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, SGS Low Blue Light and 10-bit colour depth. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass, and is home to an In-display Fingerprint Scanner.

The mobile has an Adreno 730 GPU to handle the graphics, and comes with 8 GB/ 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 128 GB/ 256 GB / 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Nothing OS 1.5 based on Android 13, and the company has promised to support it with 3 years of Android updates, 4 years of security patches every 2 months.

The new Glyph Interface allows you to customize the LED lights on the back of the Nothing Phone 2. The device supports 33 individually addressable zones, 10 new ringtones and notification sounds (in addition to the Phone 1’s sounds). Nothing Tech has added some new features to the lights such as a Glyph Timer that counts down, battery meter indicator, volume level checker and more. It will also support third party apps such as food delivery services.

The Nothing Phone 2 has dual cameras with a 50 megapixels Sony IMX890 sensor, an ƒ/1.88 aperture, and a 50 megapixels ultra-wide angle lens with a Samsung JN1 sensor, an ƒ/2.2 aperture, a 114° field of view, and 4cm Macro photography. The cameras support optical and electronic image stabilisation (OIS and EIS).

The selfie camera on the Phone 2 is a 32 megapixels snapper with a Sony IMX615 sensor, an ƒ/2.45 aperture, and can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second. The mobile has 3 high definition mics, Dual stereo speakers, but does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Nothing has packed a 4700 mAh battery in the device. It supports 45W fast wired charging that can fully charge the cell in 55 mins. It also supports 15W Qi wireless charging with dual charging support, it is capable of fully charging the mobile in 130 mins. The Nothing Phone 2 also supports 5W reverse charging.

Connectivity options on the Phone 2 include support for Dual SIMs, 5G and 4G LTE mobile networks, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS : L1+L5 dual-band ,A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, NavIC,and SBAS. The smartphone weighs 201.2g, measures 162.1 x 76.4 x 8.6 mm, and is rated IP54 for Dust and Splash Resistance.

Nothing Phone 2 price in India

The Nothing Phone 2 price in India starts at Rs. 44,999 for the 8 GB / 128 GB version, while the 12 GB / 256 GB variant costs Rs. 49,999. The top-end model with 12 GB / 512 GB carries a price tag of Rs. 54,999. The phone will be available for purchase from Flipkart on July 21st. The device comes in 2 colour options: Dark Gray and White.

Axis Bank, Citi Bank and HDFC Bank debit and credit card holders can avail an instant discount of Rs. 3,000 off of the mobile’s price when buying the phone.
