Motorola updates boot logo & animation for the Moto G & Moto X

Motorola have updated the boot services app for the Moto G and the Moto X.

Motorola Powered by Android

Say goodbye to the old one which read “Motorola – A Google Company”. The new one says Powered by Android.

This was the old logo.

Motorola Boot Logo - A Google Company

The new boot animation now shows two mythical creatures and a UFO. First the spot light focuses on a Lochness monster, next on a Flying Saucer, then on a Yeti (Big Foot), and finally on the Motorola logo. Whether this an April Fool prank or not is unknown, but the animation looks cool nonetheless.

Since my phone has an unlocked bootloader warning (Thank you Motorola), instead of the Powered by Android logo, I decided not to make a video of it. Here is one made by Android Central:

If you want the original logo back, just uninstall the update from the Play Store app. Tap on “Boot Services” and then on the Uninstall Updates button.
